Sunrise Way was established in 2014 from the commitment and passion of the Toowoomba community in response to the need for a local, accessible, quality rehabilitation service. 

Prompted by the closure of the Toowoomba Base Hospital’s withdrawal and rehabilitation unit almost 15 years prior, it took over 12 years and in excess of $2M of community donations and thousands of hours of volunteering to renovate the facilities, and to secure $1.5M of local philanthropic support as an initial funding source for the fledgling organisation.
